Engineering Manager - Coinbase Card Product Team

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to head the Coinbase Card team within the Consumer Product Group. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of the Coinbase Card product, which allows crypto investors to earn rewards through everyday purchases while facilitating seamless crypto transactions worldwide. Your Key Responsibilities: Lead and cultivate high-performing full-stack engineering teams to create features, services, and infrastructure for both web and mobile applications. Guide your team members in their professional development and contribute positively to our organizational culture. Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to develop a clear roadmap and break down complex projects into manageable tasks for effective execution. Act as a technical leader within the team by making sound architectural decisions and promoting a culture that values high-quality code and engineering methodologies. Team up with our talent acquisition team to attract and recruit exceptional engineers who embody Coinbase's values and enhance our products. Own and improve processes that ensure engineering quality while adhering to our engineering standards. What We Are Looking For: A minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering. At least 2 years of experience in engineering management. Proven experience with card products and the development or management of such products at scale. A strong grasp of high-quality code and robust software engineering processes, fostering an environment that encourages these principles. An execution-driven mentality, capable of navigating ambiguity and achieving results under pressure. A blend of strategic long-term vision and short-term execution skills. Experience in developing and managing multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale. A hands-on approach, prepared to write or review code, participate in on-call rotations, lead incident responses, and troubleshoot bugs as needed.
