What you'll do: Plan your day, set priorities, and collaborate with your team to keep freight moving safely and on time. Communicate effectively, solve problems as they arise, and adapt to road changes. Manage all required paperwork and electronic logs accurately, adhering to DOT, state, and company guidelines. Conduct thorough inspections of your tractor-trailer to ensure it remains in optimal condition before, during, and after each trip. Follow traffic laws and local restrictions to run optimized routes that minimize delays and enhance on-time delivery performance. Uphold Walmart's high standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism on every mile. Minimum Qualifications: Must have an Interstate (Class A) Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat endorsement (including cleared background check) or be willing to obtain it within 120 calendar days of hire. A minimum of 30 months experience working in a full-time Class A tractor/trailer driving position within the last 3 years. No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years. No serious traffic violations within the last three (3) years. No preventable accidents within the last three (3) years. No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the last ten (10) years. No preventable accident resulting in fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history. Must currently live within 250 miles of the assigned facility or be willing to establish residency within 90 days from the hire date. The preventability of any accidents will be determined by Walmart based on the ATA Guidelines. Drivers are compensated with a fixed rate for each mile driven and additional pay for specific activities. The mileage rate for this position is $0.55 - $0.69 per mile, with average miles driven ranging from 62,355 - 196,040.
