Position Highlights: Full-Time: Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 PM OR 8:00-4:30pm EST Location: This role will be performed at one location Gainesville GA 30501 Process medical records and take calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys to update them on their medical records status. Document information across multiple platforms using dual computer monitors. Preferred experience in Customer Service, Data Entry, and Release of Information. You will: Receive and process requests for patient health information in line with company and facility policies. Maintain confidentiality and security of all privileged information. Develop knowledge of company and facility software. Follow the company's and customers' Code of Conduct and policies. Communicate with your manager regarding work progress, challenges, and volume fluctuations. Assist with additional duties as necessary. Apply medical privacy regulations consistently to prevent unauthorized disclosures. Manage patient health records with care and precision. Safeguard patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare new patient charts by gathering documentation from paper and electronic health records. Ensure that medical records are accurate and complete, assembled in the correct order. Create digital images of physical documents for electronic storage. Respond to requests for patient records within the facility and from external sources, ensuring proper retrieval and transmission. Handle inbound and outbound calls. Assist with patient walk-ins as necessary. May take on administrative tasks like managing faxes, mail, and data entry. Meet productivity expectations as outlined at the site. Schedule pick-ups as required. Other duties as assigned. What you will bring to the table: High School Diploma or GED. Must be 18 years or older. 1 year of experience related to Health Information. Ability to commute between locations if needed. Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons. Basic computer skills. Comfort and proficiency with phones, fax machines, printers, and general office equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Bonus points if: You have experience in a healthcare setting. You have worked in a production/metric-driven environment. You have customer service experience in person. You can develop relationships with clients and customers on-site. You are open to sharing new ideas, suggesting process improvements, and providing feedback to internal stakeholders. Compensation for this role may vary based on location, responsibilities, skills, experience, and other criteria. The estimated pay range for this position is $16-$20.50 USD per hour. To ensure the safety of our patients and staff, clients may require post-offer health screenings and documentation of certain vaccinations, such as flu, Tdap, or COVID-19.
