Senior Systems Programmer - ADABAS Mainframe

Position Summary Join our dynamic team as a Senior Systems Programmer specializing in Software AG ADABAS environments. In this role, you will lead mainframe database software upgrades, provide essential administration and tuning, and collaborate with vendor personnel to tackle database challenges. Your responsibilities will include daily database maintenance, optimizing database performance, and supporting client onboarding processes. Additionally, you will be part of a scheduled rotation providing 24×7 on-call support and maintaining thorough documentation of your tasks while adhering to our change management policy. What You Bring to This Role To succeed in this position, we encourage you to meet the following qualifications: Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 10+ years of experience with Software AG ADABAS/Natural and related products for systems programming support. Strong expertise in: - Best practices for software management and documentation - Configuring and managing Software AG ADABAS and related products such as Natural - Database administration: ADABAS, NATURAL Security, Fast Path, and more. - Performance tuning using ADABAS utilities and troubleshooting production database issues - Implementing disaster recovery plans and managing vendor relations - Installing and upgrading ADABAS and Natural products. Proficient in managing multi-database environments and prioritizing tasks under pressure. Other Qualifications Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Self-motivated with a proven capability to respond effectively to multiple client support requests.
