About the Team/Role: The Identity Verification (IDV) team within Platform PG is responsible for managing Coinbase's centralized identity verification platform. Our focus is on delivering secure, scalable, and user-friendly identity verification solutions, which are vital for compliance with KYC/AML regulations and enhancing security by verifying legitimate account holders. Responsibilities: Lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for the Identity Verification platform. Drive the development of features that empower customer journey owners to configure IDV settings, decision rules, and vendor choices independently. Manage vendor partnerships, optimizing the use of multiple IDV service providers to improve success rates, reduce fraud, and control costs. Initiate and oversee projects aimed at combating synthetic fraud and AI-driven identity threats through innovative detection methods and the integration of electronic identity solutions. Deliver flexible IDV components such as document collection, liveness confirmation, facial matching, and motion detection to support diverse customer journeys. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Risk, Compliance, and Customer Experience teams to provide exceptional IDV solutions. Establish and monitor critical success metrics, including IDV success rates, fraud statistics, processing times, and contact rates. Develop user-friendly APIs, SDKs, testing tools, and monitoring solutions to facilitate product team integrations. What We Seek in You: A minimum of 7 years of product management experience in Identity, Verification, Trust & Safety, or related fields. Proven record in developing and scaling platform products with self-service options, APIs, and SDKs. Strong technical skills and capability to work effectively with engineering teams on complex backend systems and vendor integrations. Experience managing vendor relationships, including assessing performance, negotiating contracts, and optimizing multi-vendor scenarios. Ability to balance priorities concerning fraud prevention, user experience, and cost management. Excellent analytical abilities with a track record of defining and monitoring success metrics. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; adept at influencing cross-functional stakeholders. Experience in a regulated environment, particularly in fintech, payments, or similar sectors. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with document verification, biometric technologies, liveness detection, or electronic ID solutions. Familiarity with machine learning applications for fraud detection and identifying synthetic identities. Background in cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, or fintech. Experience with market expansion into international regions and understanding region-specific compliance norms. Position ID: P57330 Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position ranges from $207,485 to $244,100 USD.
