Data Analyst - Navy Support

Position Description & Qualifications Are you passionate about leveraging data to drive improvements in high-stakes environments? Join Serco, a prime contractor supporting the US Navy under the NAVSEA contract, where you'll play an instrumental role in enhancing the Navy Modernization Process (NMP). This critical process ensures timely and cost-effective operational modifications to the U.S. Naval Fleet, ensuring peak performance while maintaining high standards of Configuration Management (CM). As a Data Analyst, you will engage directly with senior Navy leaders, contributing to our mission with your insights drawn from data analysis. Ideal candidates will have firsthand experience onboard ships or in shipyard settings, with a strong background in Navy maintenance metrics and analytics. Key Responsibilities: Conduct detailed analysis for the Availability Duration Scorecard (ADS) Quarterly Review. Support calculations of projected Navy Surface ship maintenance durations based on the ADS Model for quarterly presentations. Organize and analyze data, ensuring clarity and accuracy in writing and documentation. Create and maintain databases and spreadsheets for availability planning and status tracking. Gather technical information from various sources, utilizing EXCEL/SQL for targeted data extraction. Employ data mining techniques to identify trends and behaviors within large datasets. Analyze data to draw actionable conclusions and present opportunities for improvement. Design and deliver graphical displays of information for presentations, reports, and dashboards via NMCI approved platforms. Lead working groups and analytical teams, presenting findings effectively to stakeholders. Offer programmatic management and planning support to enhance operations. To succeed in this role, you will need: An active DoD Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship. A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or an Associate's Degree with 7 years; or a High School Diploma with 9 years of relevant experience. Strong data analytics skills, including statistical analysis and data visualization in a DOD environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Excellent communication skills for conveying complex insights to senior leaders. A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement. Familiarity with naval data sources and systems. Additional Desired Skills: Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau. Knowledge of Navy ship maintenance and modernization processes. Education or certification in data analytics or computer science is a plus.
