Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure! Are you ready to make an impact? We are seeking a skilled Senior System Administrator to help us operate and optimize our expansive cloud infrastructure. As part of our dedicated team, you will be key in delivering high-quality services that address the world's significant challenges! Key Responsibilities: Install and configure enterprise server hardware and cabling infrastructure. Perform hardware maintenance and break/fix repairs for field-replaceable units (FRUs). Install racks, manage cabling, power up systems, and ensure a smooth handoff to internal provisioning teams. Troubleshoot and resolve Telco connectivity issues effectively. Diagnose and replace network switch equipment as needed. Utilize a ticketing environment to communicate and collaborate with various Oracle Cloud teams. Document activities and assist in creating/updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Manage structured cabling, including labeling and troubleshooting fiber, copper, and telecom cables. Install and repair system power supplies and cabling. Execute small projects independently and support larger projects in collaboration with management. Qualifications: Strong knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware. Genuine interest in furthering your understanding of data center concepts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexible to work a shift schedule (4 days a week, 10-hour shifts) which includes weekends and holidays. Minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT environment. Proficient in troubleshooting servers, networking devices, and IT equipment. Experienced in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and shipping server parts. Available for on-call shifts and capable of responding to critical incidents. Ability to escalate issues to senior staff and management when necessary. Knowledge of IT hardware concepts such as RAID, SAN, SCIS, Linux/Unix, and GRUB. Familiarity with trunk infrastructure is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Associates or Bachelor's degree OR 3+ years of relevant experience. Over 1 year of experience with structured cabling (copper/fiber), including testing of cables and knowledge of cooling and electrical systems in data centers.
