Crossing Safety Officer

Job Summary: As a Crossing Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of pedestrians and vehicles in designated areas. You will establish positive relationships with customers as well as local law enforcement and fire departments, all while consistently monitoring your surroundings. Your professionalism and exceptional customer service will be key in this role. Basic Functions: Manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic at crossings. Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety. Assist in escorting materials and individuals as needed. Conduct inspections for security and fire risks. Handle special assignments as they arise. Responsibilities: Arrive promptly and report to your post wearing the complete uniform. Maintain a professional demeanor while greeting customers, visitors, and staff with friendliness. Stay informed of any updates to post orders and relevant information from management. Patrol the area or maintain a fixed position, while actively reporting suspicious activities, accidents, and any incidents. Monitor security cameras and equipment diligently, in accordance with established procedures. Be knowledgeable about emergency protocols to respond effectively to incidents. Complete Daily Activity Reports and relevant documentation concerning your duties. Offer insights to management about safety improvements based on your observations. Understand and ensure the functionality of life safety systems and equipment; coordinate with authorized contractors for maintenance. Follow training and compliance regulations as directed by management. Communicate daily with your supervisor regarding any new security concerns or procedural changes. Skills and Abilities: Exemplify honesty, alertness, and discipline in ensuring safety. Maintain constant vigilance and attention to detail. Demonstrate strong customer service skills in line with our mission. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently. Able to work collaboratively and embrace change.
