Position Purpose: As a critical member of the food supply chain, our delivery drivers ensure that products reach customers in excellent condition and on schedule. CDL-A Drivers are the face of our company, building relationships while delivering food and food-related products safely and on time, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers to ensure timely responses to questions. Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization to best serve the company. Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer to meet DOT regulations and company safety standards. Report any safety issues or required repairs immediately. Follow all DOT regulations and company safety guidelines while driving. Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight. Conduct count checks of loaded items and verify customer invoices. Accurately complete all required paperwork associated with freight. Move tractor to the loading dock and connect preloaded trailers as needed. Deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedules. Unload products and transport them into designated customer storage areas. Check for damages on items and coordinate with supervisors regarding order removals as per company policy. Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain necessary signatures. Collect payments where required and ensure secure handling of returns. Secure trailer doors and ensure proper locking of tractor, trailer, and freight. Handle damaged goods and complete necessary paperwork for returns. Maintain accurate daily records of hours of service in accordance with Federal DOT regulations. Perform housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area. At shift end, secure all equipment and finalize all paperwork. Execute other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED. Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience. Valid CDL-A license. Aged 21 or older. Meet state licensing and certification requirements. Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years. Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check. Successfully complete a road test. Hold or be able to obtain a valid DOT Health Card. Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases weighing between 10-35 pounds, and up to 60-90 pounds depending on the location.
