Application Instructions Please review the job description below before applying. Position Description SUMMARY Operate a variety of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, excavator/trackhoe, loader, backhoe, bulldozer, dump truck, tamper, and water truck. TYPICAL DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct routine inspections on equipment including moving parts, welds, and structural integrity prior to operating. Inform supervisor of all defects and malfunctions. Perform minor adjustments as needed. Assist mechanic with major repairs. Perform routine maintenance including lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment. Monitor gauges and other indicators ensuring safe operation. Grade, shape, and form work area. Backfill, spread fill, stabilize stone, load trucks and dump buckets, transport dump buckets, and move equipment - including rigging and attaching equipment to bucket hook. Adhere to all safety rules, guidelines, and codes. Maintain records of time worked and materials used. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements High school diploma or GED plus one (1) to three (3) months of related experience or training Maintain a valid Driver's License Knowledge of all heavy equipment operations including best practices in safe operation and maintenance Ability to appropriately judge distances, slopes, and depths accurately Ability to read engineer drawings, in some cases Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondences, memos, and blueprints Ability to write simple correspondences and complete logs Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide Must understand and be committed to jobsite, workplace, and heavy equipment safety standards and processes Equal Opportunity Employer We are an Equal Employment/Affirmative Action employer.
