Location Elkhart,IN Description Our client, the U.S.'s largest commercial real estate services firm, has an exciting opportunity for a Building Engineer to support facility operations at a specialized lab and clean room environment in Elkhart, IN. This 6+ month contract role is responsible for maintaining building systems, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring mechanical and electrical equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has strong HVAC and boiler experience, attention to detail, and the ability to complete maintenance documentation accurately. Responsibilities • Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems • Complete preventative maintenance tasks including changing filters, replacing belts, and inspecting equipment • Monitor and maintain high-pressure boiler systems, pumps, and motors • Perform routine inspections to ensure building systems operate within design specifications • Complete maintenance work orders and accurately document service activities using CMMS systems • Assist with minor facility repairs including painting, patching, and furniture assembly or relocation • Support fire life safety inspections and building compliance requirements • Maintain an energy management program to ensure systems operate efficiently • Coordinate emergency repairs and support facility safety procedures • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following proper hazardous material handling procedures Work Environment • Facility includes laboratory and clean room environments • Proper PPE required before entering lab spaces, including: Gown Eye protection Bump caps Bootie Required Experience • 3-5 years of building maintenance, facilities engineering, or mechanical systems experience • Strong HVAC experience • Experience working with high-pressure boilers • Experience maintaining pumps and motors • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete maintenance documentation • High School Diploma or GED Preferred Experience • Universal CFC certification • Experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS) • Familiarity with fire extinguisher maintenance • Basic plumbing skills • CMMS maintenance system experience
