Job Title: Interim Geologist Business Unit: FSU Join our dedicated team as a Geologist, playing a crucial role in federal projects with organizations such as the EPA, USACE, and DOE. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in field investigations, manage drilling operations, and gather essential geological and environmental data. We prioritize quality data collection and project compliance, ensuring that your skills make a significant impact. Key Responsibilities: Devise and execute comprehensive geological and environmental investigations. Oversee drilling and logging operations across a range of project complexities. Document soil and rock core logging while producing precise boring logs adhering to ASTM and USCS standards. Collect and manage environmental and geotechnical samples for lab analysis. Install and sustain groundwater monitoring wells and related instrumentation. Maintain detailed technical field notes, logs, and other documentation. Engage in project progress meetings to ensure effective communication and alignment. Support additional project tasks as needed to meet objectives. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. 5 years of practical experience in geology or environmental science. Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education. Willingness to travel as necessary based on project requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Geologist (PG) License. Knowledge of the Unified Soil Classification System. Current 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper certification and ongoing refresher training. Completion of an 8-hour supervisory training program. Certification for a 30-hour OSHA Construction Industry safety class.
