Job Overview We are on the lookout for a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will utilize your extensive technical expertise and project management skills to ensure our CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and deployment processes are robust, scalable, and automated. Your leadership will drive best practices, nurture team development, and work closely with both development and operations teams to enhance our global SaaS platform. Availability for off-hours support may be required. Success Metrics: Maintain minimum deployment pipeline uptime of 99% with minimal manual intervention. Speed up deployment lead times while minimizing errors through automation techniques. Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions across services and geographical regions. Build, nurture, and sustain a high-performing, geographically distributed DevOps team. Responsibilities Leadership: Mentor and develop a distributed team of 4-7 DevOps Engineers. Coordinate team efforts across different time zones including Ireland, India, and North America. Align priorities, sprint goals, and establish technical standards. Encourage a collaborative and inclusive team culture. CI/CD Pipeline Management: Oversee the design, maintenance, and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines. Ensure harmonious deployment practices across multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Implement quality assurance gates and automated testing within release pipelines. Troubleshoot and resolve critical build and release challenges. Infrastructure Automation: Promote infrastructure-as-code methodologies (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM). Standardize cloud provisioning, configuration, and resource management. Lead the adoption of containerization and orchestration strategies (Docker, Kubernetes). Modernize deployment workflows and gradually eliminate outdated methods. Development Support: Deliver tooling and automation solutions to enhance developer productivity. Suggest optimizations for development and staging environments. Support the containerization of applications and services. Collaborate with engineering teams on deployment requirements and optimization strategies. Monitoring & Operations: Set monitoring and alerting standards for developer infrastructure and pipelines. Ensure efficient capacity planning and cost management practices are in place. Participate in high-priority incident resolutions and subsequent analysis. Maintain comprehensive documentation and operational runbooks. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform, or Software Engineering. 6+ years of experience in leading technical projects and mentoring engineering teams. Proficient with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.). Strong background in AWS (Azure and GCP experience is advantageous). Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code practices. Excellent scripting abilities (Python, Bash, or similar languages). Outstanding communication skills to collaborate effectively across global teams. Education/Certifications/Licenses: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Preferred Experience deploying Java and Spring Boot technologies. Familiarity with database automation, monitoring, and secrets management. Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications (AWS, Azure, CKA/CKAD). The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $160,000 annually. Final compensation will be influenced by factors such as relevant experience, skill set, education, internal equity, and market data.
