To achieve this, you must effectively manage the sales, service, mechanical, and operational department personnel. Have a strong knowledge of the market and an in-depth understanding of the location's financial data, as well as strong customer relations skills. Be able to direct and optimize the efficiency of the department while understanding the needs of all East Bay Tire locations. Close attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication are required for this role. First-class customer service is a must for success in this role. DUTIES INCLUDE Active participation in East Bay Tire's Safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environmentParticipate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth BUSINESS PLANS The ability to create, implement, monitor, and ensure business plans are met according to company goalsUnderstand and effectively manage the location's P&LMeet monthly with the Board of Directors to review forecasts and profits for the location Work directly with the General Manager on making recommendations on both short and long-term business plans, sales promotions, and staffing needs SALES Directly responsible for achieving monthly and yearly goalsNew AccountsEvaluate and implement appropriate new sales techniques to increase the location's sales volumeIdentify new opportunities within the market, engage decision makers through cold calling, and close new businessLead and manage the sales team on sales calls for new accountsDevelop relationships with customers / recommend productsMaintain relationship with current customers/recommend new products as neededUpdate customer pricing based on cost changes OPERATIONS Create the annual location sales forecasts by estimating total sales, gross and operating profits, as well as expenses for the locationConduct ongoing meetings with sales personnel to plan and implement objectives for achieving sales and gross profitsAttend to customer complaints, ensuring that a high level of customer satisfaction is obtainedDesign and recommend sales programs and set short-and long-term sales strategiesActively support, encourage, and motivate sales and service personnel daily to maintain high morale INVENTORY Coordinate with the Director of Purchasing on the appropriate supply of inventory and ensure that all inventory is adequately stocked/forecastedResponsible for physical inventory and accuracy (to include bin accuracy and loss of inventory accuracy)Responsible for selling tires that need to be "moved"/sold for new inventoryAnalyze slow-moving stock and make appropriate price adjustmentsAnalyze current market trends and adjust strategy accordingly SERVICE/MECHANICALEnsure the following is effectively met: Service and mechanical ordersBillingCustomer ServiceFleet vehicles maintenance PERSONNEL Recruit, hire, onboard, and review all personnel in collaboration with Human ResourcesHold weekly safety, training, and sales meetings with all employeesOversee standards for all personnel conduct and performanceCoach and mentor employees to achieve peak performance and their career goalsMust be able to address employee performance/employee relations issues and come up with viable solutions (with guidance from human resources) REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, or related field preferredMust have at least 5 years' experience working in the commercial tire industryExperience overseeing teams; leading, guiding, and coaching the location to be successfulExperience setting goals and meeting metrics Strong working knowledge of the commercial tire industry preferredMust have a strong commitment to achieving goals with a teamwork mentalityMust have great communication/interpersonal skills with employees, all levels of managementMust be able to meet deadlines as needed and ensure accuracy of all work that the location produces (internally and externally)Must be motivated with a good business sense and understandingMust have good decision-making/judgment skillsMust be extremely organized, detail-orientedMust be a team player, with the initiative and ability to do what it takes to get the job done Computer skills with a variety of programs, including Excel, Outlook, and various other computer systemsProficient with the implementation and use of various softwareStrong mathematical and deductive reasoning skillsBilingual not required, but a plusMust have a valid driver's license and an insurable driving recordMust be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds as required for the jobAbility to meet deadlines, multitask, and work independently on tight deadlines with multiple priorities LOCATION This position is located at our Stockton, CA, Location.
