Senior Interaction Designer, Google Beam

Google Beam is an advanced communication platform that creates immersive conversations, enabled by cutting-edge 3D imaging and spatial audio. In this role, your work will directly influence the future of how people connect, whether they are near or far. Collaborate with talented professionals across engineering and product management to develop amazing experiences that feel real and engaging. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$280,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Salary is determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter will provide the specific salary range based on your preferred working location during the hiring process. Responsibilities: Define and promote a long-term user experience and product vision for the Beam platform, ensuring alignment with cross-functional teams in Engineering, Product, and Research. Create design sketches and 3D prototypes grounded in user experience principles; iterate extensively to refine interactions for high-quality results. Champion user-driven design processes, managing workflows, optimizing files, and creating reusable component libraries to streamline development efforts. Partner with User Research to facilitate studies that gather insights, preparing necessary resources for seamless execution. Requirements: Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in product design or UX. Experience with Generative AI product interactions. Include a portfolio or relevant links showcasing your work in your resume. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field. 12 years of experience in product design or UX. 5 years of experience within a complex, cross-functional organization. 4 years of experience leading design projects. Expertise in Rive for enhancing design processes and the ability to create 3D prototypes. Understanding of AI applications in UX design to enhance workflows and product interactions.
