JOB SUMMARY: In your role as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Baptist Urgent Care, you will be essential in delivering exceptional medical care to patients of all ages with various acute and chronic medical conditions. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to diagnose, treat, and educate patients, ensuring that high standards of care are maintained. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following responsibilities outline the general expectations of this position; however, additional duties may be assigned. Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues. Provide friendly and convenient patient care to all individuals seeking health-related services. Lead and support during emergencies while maintaining a comforting presence for patients. Adapt to varying fast-paced and high-stress conditions, including flexible hours and continual interaction with others. Perform comprehensive medical assessments, treatment, management, and follow-ups, including but not limited to primary care, urgent care, occupational health, DOT physicals, and workers' compensation. Conduct medical procedures such as laceration repairs, nail removals, Pap tests, injections, splinting, and abscess drainage. Establish and monitor appropriate care levels for clinic patients. Oversee and support on-site laboratory, x-rays, injections, and collections for direct access services, as applicable. Maintain clinical competency and stay updated with medical best practices. Work with Center Leadership to ensure operations align with medical policies and professional standards. Participate in developing and revising policies impacting medical practice, quality of care, and patient satisfaction. Assist in developing in-service and continuing education programs for medical professionals. Recommend growth opportunities for existing and new services. Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and accrediting bodies. Engage in the creation and presentation of educational programs for staff. Represent the company and clinic at required internal and external meetings/events. Mentor other medical staff (e.g., physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants) to ensure quality services and patient satisfaction. WHAT'S REQUIRED? Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (preferred). Active state license as an APRN or PA. Current Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) Board Certification. Current DEA license or eligibility to obtain upon hire. Current DOT certification or willingness to obtain upon hire. Current BLS certification. WHAT'S THE SCHEDULE? Our full-time team members work a rotating schedule of 30-40 hours/week, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled as needed. ABOUT BAPTIST URGENT CARE: Baptist Urgent Care operates nine locations across Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas as part of Urgent Team, one of the largest independent operators of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast. Our walk-in centers provide a range of healthcare services for injuries and illnesses, occupational health, and wellness care. Our centers are open seven days a week: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Each Baptist Urgent Care center is an Accredited Care Center, a designation from the Urgent Care Association that recognizes commitment to safety, quality, and the scope of services.
