Role Summary The Senior Principal Software Development Engineer is a pivotal role focused on business systems analysis within the Enterprise Systems group at UKG, specifically in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ecosystem. This position entails close collaboration with Finance and Go-To-Market teams, along with IT leadership, to transform complex business goals into scalable, compliant, and future-ready system solutions. Operating at a Senior Principal level, this role transcends traditional requirements gathering, acting as a trusted advisor, strategic thinker, and transformation leader throughout extensive, multi-phase programs involving D365 Finance & Operations and integrated enterprise platforms. Key Responsibilities Strategic Business Analysis & Advisory Act as a senior advisor to Finance and Operations leadership regarding enterprise systems strategy and roadmap development. Convert business strategy, regulatory requirements, and operational necessities into comprehensive system and process designs. Provide expert insight on UKG and D365 product capabilities, roadmap consequences, and industry best practices. Influence executive decisions by clearly outlining the trade-offs associated with configuration, customization, integration, and platform adaptability. Enterprise Process & Systems Leadership Steer comprehensive business analysis across Finance and Order-to-Cash-related processes. Take full ownership of requirements and process design for Order-to-Cash (OTC), Record-to-Report (RTR), and Procure-to-Pay (P2P). Design future-state processes leveraging D365 Finance & Operations and integrated SaaS tools. Lead analysis efforts for global rollouts, country-specific adjustments, and complex organizational frameworks. Program & Delivery Enablement Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, engineers, and system integrators to ensure business objectives are accurately represented in system designs, delivering high-quality outputs including: Business and functional requirements Process maps and swim lane diagrams Data and integration specifications Decision frameworks and executive summaries Support multi-phase implementations, upgrades, and platform migrations from legacy ERP to D365. Facilitate change management by clearly identifying the impacts on users, processes, and associated systems. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure solutions comply with SOX regulations and data privacy standards, maintaining internal control standards. Work in partnership with Internal Audit and Finance Controllership teams to embed controls in workflow systems. Proactively identify and mitigate risks relating to data integrity, integrations, scalability, and regulatory compliance. Integration & Platform Strategy Lead the analysis of intricate integrations between D365 Finance and various ISVs and Tax providers, as well as CRM, Billing, Revenue platforms, and reporting tools. Ensure alignment of master data, security, and role design with enterprise standards. Vendor & Stakeholder Management Assist in vendor evaluations, RFPs, and platform selections within Finance. Collaborate with external system integrators and SaaS vendors to ensure the quality of solutions aligns with business needs. Serve as a trusted intermediary between business leaders and technical teams, fostering clarity, alignment, and accountability. Required Qualifications 15+ years of experience in business systems analysis, enterprise applications, or digital transformation. Extensive experience with ERP and Finance processes, particularly D365 and SAP S4. Proven record of leading analysis for complex global implementations in Finance and Operations with a focus on OTC, PTP, and RTR processes. Experience with multi-country configurations. Background in high-tech, services, manufacturing, or regulated industries. Domain Expertise Record-to-Report and Financial Close Procure-to-Pay Order-to-Cash (where applicable) Data, integrations, and reporting across ERPs Skills & Competencies Strong senior principal-level stakeholder engagement ability, capable of influencing executive decision-making. Deep understanding of ERP configuration versus customization trade-offs. Ability to translate business needs into scalable platform designs effectively. Familiarity with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies. Exceptional communication, documentation, and analytical skills. Solid financial and operational insight with a strong focus on internal controls. Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field is required. The pay range for this position is $163,900.00 to $235,550.00 USD. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and work location.
