Position Purpose: This entry-level driver training role is designed for those eager to learn the driving of a tractor trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and/or overnight routes. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver and unload a variety of food products to our valued customers, ensuring all routes are completed safely and in compliance with company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will interact professionally with customers and co-workers to provide excellent service and support. Position Responsibilities: Successfully complete the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program, maintaining all required training documentation. Work alongside a driver trainer to learn the delivery process, adhering to instructions and safety protocols. Conduct pre/post trip safety inspections of the tractor/truck and trailer in accordance with DOT regulations, reporting any safety issues immediately. Ensure proper loading and securing of freight, conducting inventory checks, and completing all necessary paperwork accurately. Drive to deliver customer orders according to a set schedule, while adhering to safety guidelines. Unload products at customer locations, verify deliveries, and collect payment if necessary. Keep vehicles and freight secure at all times and manage customer returns responsibly. Accurately record daily service hours while complying with federal and state regulations. Maintain housekeeping standards within the tractor, loading dock, and trailers. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the team and the company's objectives. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent required. For internal PFG candidates, one year of good standing in the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program is needed. External entry-level hires should have 0-6 months of experience with a CDL. Must possess a valid CDL A, be at least 21 years old, and meet all state licensing requirements. A clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years is necessary, along with passing a post-offer drug test and road test. You should also hold a valid current DOT Health Card and be able to lift and handle freight typically weighing between 60 to 90 pounds.
