As a Mechanical Facilities Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining essential building systems and operational equipment, ensuring our facilities run reliably, safely, and compliantly around the clock. Your expertise will be vital in supporting mechanical systems, controls, and maintenance services, maximizing equipment uptime and asset reliability. This full-time role is based in our Durham, NC office. You will work closely with the Facilities team and cross-functional partners to ensure efficient operation of all facility assets, including utilities and equipment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct planned, preventive, and corrective maintenance for facility assets to support continuous operations. Optimize routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities and oversee facility walkthroughs to ensure functionality and compliance. Monitor and troubleshoot Building Automation System (BAS) alarms and maintain accurate records in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify equipment issues and implement solutions. Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for repairs and maintenance services. Support spare parts management and develop necessary maintenance documentation. Ensure compliance with GxP/GLP/GMP requirements, site SOPs, and quality standards. Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed. Promote a safe working environment and maintain required training standards. Embrace and promote GRAIL's cultural values. Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent with maintenance or operational experience. Strong team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours support. Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years of relevant maintenance or operational experience. Experience in industrial or commercial electrical systems. Experience in life sciences within a regulated clinical laboratory environment. HVAC CFC certification and knowledge of fire protection systems. Relevant certifications in building maintenance or operations. Exceptional customer service orientation and a proactive outlook towards continuous improvement. Proficiency in Microsoft and/or Google Office applications. Technical certification or Associate's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Applied Engineering is a plus. Physical Demands & Working Environment: Work hours may vary based on operational needs. May include working with dry ice and exposure to hazardous materials. Some lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary. The expected annual base pay range for this position is $69K-$85K, commensurate with skills and experience.
