Company : Highmark Health Job Description : JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a dedicated Cloud Operations Specialist who is passionate about leveraging cloud technologies to support our organization’s innovative goals. In this intermediate-level role, you will play a crucial part in adopting, expanding, maintaining, and optimizing cloud usage through engineering support and automation builds. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that we effectively utilize cloud solutions to meet corporate objectives. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Engineer and implement cloud-based architectures, migration strategies, and resource deployment that drive automation to fulfill business needs. Define cloud resource procurement and performance patterns by monitoring usage and trends to enhance cloud efficiency and reduce costs. Contribute ideas and solutions to senior engineers to maximize cloud services effectively. Create automation scripts and repeatable processes to streamline software deployments into cloud environments. Conduct research and analysis to propose new cloud deployments or modifications, offering recommendations on the best course of action. Manage Level 2 incidents, problems, and changes related to cloud operations engineering. Develop thorough documentation to support operational processes, procedures, and implementations. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. EDUCATION Required Bachelor's Degree in Cloud Computing, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. EXPERIENCE Required 3 years of experience with at least two modern programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, BASH, PowerShell, etc. Operational support experience with a major cloud service provider like Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or Amazon Web Services. Preferred Experience writing efficient, maintainable code that is fault-tolerant. Ability to design, build, and deploy scalable cloud solutions using automation tools like Terraform or Ansible and version control systems such as GitLab. Knowledge of IT security practices including identity and access management, data protection, and encryption. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). LICENSES or CERTIFICATIONS Required Certification in GCP, AWS, Azure, or other cloud services. Preferred Certification in Terraform, Ansible, or similar automation tools. SKILLS Strong ability to achieve ambitious goals in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Fluent and idiomatic proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Extensive scripting experience with a willingness to learn additional programming languages. Familiarity with version control tools such as GitLab. Knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools. Experience with automation technologies like Terraform and Ansible. Understanding of infrastructure concepts, including OS, virtualization, and networking.
