Join our dynamic team in the Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (SICU and Neuro ICU), where we provide specialized care for critically ill adult patients (14 and older) across 30 intensive care beds. Our unit integrates a balanced care approach for neuro and surgical patient populations, managing complex conditions such as traumatic brain injuries, multi-trauma cases, strokes, and more. The focus of patient care includes: Life-threatening conditions related to major surgeries Multi-organ system failure Hemodynamic instability and failures Advanced monitoring and treatment protocols As a Clinical Nurse II in the SICU and Neuro ICU, you will utilize your advanced skills in: ICP monitoring, ventilator management, and comprehensive physical assessments Performing on-unit procedures including arterial line placement, central line management, and bedside bronchoscopy Administering medications and evaluating diagnostic tests Collaborating with the nursing team to create and implement comprehensive care plans Your responsibilities will also include: Implementation of physician orders and special tests Interpreting and evaluating patient conditions to ensure high-quality care Providing primary and emergency care for various medical situations To qualify, you must be a graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree, and hold a current NYS Registered Nurse license. Additionally, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
