Your Role As a Lead AI Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs). You will engage throughout the AI lifecycle—from researching and fine-tuning foundation models to prompt engineering and production deployment. By enhancing the performance and alignment of AI systems, you'll play a critical role in solving real-world challenges. We seek individuals with a strong blend of practical engineering skills, an in-depth understanding of contemporary AI architectures, and a commitment to deploying AI responsibly. Key Responsibilities: Design and optimize AI prompts and innovative applications powered by foundation models, including LLMs. Architect and implement generative agent systems that manage complex tasks through multi-model coordination frameworks. Develop strategies for applications and components, ensuring effective user experience alongside robust backend systems. Define, evaluate, and enhance AI system architectures by applying relevant frameworks and industry best practices. Conduct comprehensive code reviews, offering expert insights on enhancements, troubleshooting, and maintaining engineering standards. Build and maintain scalable machine learning infrastructures, including distributed training pipelines seamlessly integrated with APIs and tools. Employ advanced evaluation methodologies to ensure model robustness, safety, fairness, and to mitigate hallucination risks. Work closely with cross-functional teams—including business leaders, engineers, architects, and designers—to align AI systems with strategic business aims. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues during testing and production phases. Document architectural designs, methodologies, and innovations for effective knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Travel may be required for this role, ranging from 0 to 100% based on business needs and client requirements. Qualifications: At least 3 years of proven experience designing and building robust AI systems, including implementing controls and best practices for production AI systems. A minimum of 3 years' experience in creating AI solutions using design patterns such as retrieval augmentation generation (RAG) and managing data pipelines. 3 years' experience in engineering teams with proficiency in programming languages like Python, JavaScript, Java, Spring, or GoLang, along with expertise in AI frameworks like Autogen, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel. At least 3 years' experience working with cloud application services and utilizing AI capabilities from major platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure. A minimum of 2 years' experience in AI Engineering, focusing on application performance optimization including fine-tuning and prompt engineering. A year or more of team leadership experience, preferably in AI-focused projects. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Bonus Points: Experience in training and evaluating LLMs and multimodal foundation models using self-supervised or transfer learning techniques. Expertise in creating value justification frameworks for AI, including cost estimation and ROI analysis. Familiarity with developing AI solutions that employ Model Context Protocol and understanding evolving agent standards. Experience in building applications for mobile and web platforms, showcasing versatility. A background in developing Agentic AI systems.
