Lead Solutions Architect for Mainframe Modernization

Join a team where people are passionate about what they do! Job Overview: We are seeking a talented Mainframe Modernization Solutions Architect to help transform our customers' digital landscapes. In this engaged role, you will tackle challenging technical problems, set benchmarks, and establish best practices for the modernization of legacy mainframe systems. The ideal candidate should have extensive expertise in at least one of the following key areas: Infra-structure modernization: Implement tailored workloads in a Hybrid Cloud setup. Application modernization: Transition from monolithic applications to Cloud-Native API structures. Microservices process modernization: Adopt a DevOps strategy to accelerate application development. Key Responsibilities: Guide customers and systems integrators in designing scalable, high-availability solutions using the Rocket Enterprise Portfolio. Act as a technical leader collaborating with business, development, and infrastructure teams. Lead proof-of-concept technology evaluations and pilot projects. Deliver customer and internal presentations and training sessions. Align consulting partners with the Rocket Enterprise mainframe modernization strategy and methodologies. Provide architectural guidance to ensure effective customer engagements worldwide. Generate technical content such as blogs, whitepapers, and presentations for major conferences. Qualifications: Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field. 4 to 10 years of experience spearheading mainframe and legacy modernization efforts. Expertise leading modernization initiatives for customers. Knowledge of major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP, along with technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience in assessing on-premises mainframe applications and processes for modernization planning. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solution Architect Professional, Microsoft Azure Solution Architect, Scaled Agile Framework) are a plus. Fluency in written and spoken English. Demonstrated experience migrating customers from Mainframe to Rocket Enterprise Server platform with expertise in one or more of the following: Infrastructure Modernization: Familiar with tools and methods for migrating mainframe workloads. Experience with COBOL modernization and cross-platform application code transition. Hands-on knowledge of mainframe and non-x86 legacy systems. Application Modernization: Strong analytical skills with deep architectural knowledge in refactoring complex applications. Understanding of cloud computing, microservices, and serverless technologies. Experience in high availability and resilient systems design. Process Modernization: Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, including DevOps. Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub and Jenkins.
