The Pediatric Physical Therapy Specialist (PTSS) is a licensed professional, graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program, and holds a current state license. PTSSs provide crucial care to clients requiring intermittent professional services, guiding clients, their families, and other healthcare team members. All care is delivered following physician orders and established care plans, under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. Hiring Requirements Graduation from an accredited PTA program and a valid state license. Current CPR certification. At least one year of experience in occupational therapy; pediatric experience is a plus. Valid driver's license and automobile insurance. Essential Responsibilities Conduct client visits professionally and punctually, ensuring patient needs are met. Accurately document all patient interactions and submit necessary paperwork promptly. Quickly communicate any changes in a patient's condition to the supervising PT. Regularly check schedules for accuracy and ensure therapy services are properly recorded. Participate in staff meetings and assist in care coordination activities. Adhere to HIPAA compliance and engage in the Agency's Privacy Program. Engage in continuing education to enhance knowledge of healthcare delivery. Complete other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Essential Physical Demands Risk Category: Exposure to blood and/or body fluids may occur during duties. Potential exposure to temperature and humidity extremes while working in client homes is possible. Additional environmental exposures may also occur. Physical demands include: Traveling to various locations including client homes and offices. Manual dexterity for operating patient care equipment and office devices. Visual acuity for reviewing documentation. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and using fine motor skills. Occasional requirements to bend, stoop, kneel, balance, climb, or crawl. Regular lifting, pushing, or carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
