Reconstruction Cost Estimator

Position Summary The Reconstruction Cost Estimator plays a critical role in preparing precise and detailed cost estimates for residential and light commercial reconstruction projects, specifically addressing fire, water, storm, and other property damages. This position collaborates closely with homeowners, insurance adjusters, project managers, and production teams to ensure that all scopes of work are accurately defined, pricing is justified, and projects are completed on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough on-site inspections to evaluate property damage and establish the scope of work. Prepare comprehensive estimates utilizing Xactimate; experience with XactAnalysis is preferred. Review insurance reports, ensuring that scopes align with carrier requirements. Effectively negotiate and communicate with insurance adjusters. Identify necessary supplements and articulate them clearly. Work collaboratively with project managers to ensure accuracy in scope and maintaining cost controls. Track estimate approvals diligently and maintain organized documentation. Foster strong communication with customers throughout the estimating process. Ensure compliance with local building codes and reconstruction standards. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in restoration, reconstruction, or construction estimating. Proven proficiency in using Xactimate. Strong understanding of insurance-driven repair processes. Ability to effectively read and interpret blueprints and construction documents. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong organizational capabilities and attention to detail. Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to job sites.
