Join the RxBenefits Team! We are actively seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to elevate our growing Product Engineering organization. In this key leadership role, you will guide multiple engineering teams and Engineering Managers, steering the successful execution of strategic product initiatives. This position combines organizational leadership, team mentorship, execution of delivery, and technical guidance. The Senior Engineering Manager engages at both the team and organizational level to foster consistent engineering best practices, scalable delivery models, and robust talent development throughout the Product Engineering division. Key Responsibilities Include: Lead, coach, and nurture Engineering Managers and Software Engineers across various Scrum teams. Act as a senior people leader, supporting hiring strategies, performance assessments, career development, and succession planning. Oversee the delivery health of multiple teams, ensuring adherence to strategic priorities and fostering cross-team collaboration. Drive execution of delivery by collaborating with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, and peer leaders to align priorities and balance capacity. Identify and resolve systemic challenges affecting engineering effectiveness, including processes, dependencies, tooling, architecture alignment, and team structuring. Ensure teams consistently deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software that aligns with architectural standards. Balance immediate delivery needs with long-term technical health and sustainability. Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, psychological safety, and a focus on continuous improvement across teams. Serve as a senior escalation point for delivery risks, personnel challenges, and conflicts between teams. Contribute to organizational design, capacity planning, and workforce strategy to support business growth and product roadmap objectives. Help define and reinforce engineering standards and best practices across teams. Collaborate with Architecture and senior technical leaders to ensure robust technical direction and alignment. Monitor delivery and engineering health metrics across teams, using data to propel organizational improvement. Encourage best practices in engineering, including code reviews, testing, documentation, and operational excellence. Mentor Engineering Managers and emerging technical and people leaders. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and senior leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes. Support initiatives related to process improvement, tooling, and engineering maturity. Required Skills / Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. 10+ years of professional experience in software development or technology-related roles. 5+ years of experience in leading software engineering teams, including managing Engineering Managers or multiple teams. Proven experience in managing managers and engineers with direct HR responsibilities. Deep understanding of modern software development practices, architectures, and delivery models. Experience overseeing delivery across multiple Scrum teams or complex projects. Able to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels. Strong grasp of Agile principles and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.). Demonstrated experience in scaling engineering teams and delivery models successfully. Exceptional ability to influence across functions without direct authority. Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Outstanding organizational and prioritization abilities to manage competing demands. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. A passion for developing leaders and fostering strong, engaged teams. A commitment to continuous learning and improvement as a leader. Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience acting as a technical lead, architect, or senior engineer before transitioning into management. Experience leading large or multi-product engineering organizations. Experience managing distributed or hybrid teams. Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and modern DevOps practices. Experience delivering software in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, insurance). Exposure to AWS-based platforms and services. Experience establishing engineering processes and standards across various teams. Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives related to Agile maturity and delivery excellence. Experience leading during organizational growth or transformation. Strong collaborative mindset with Product Management and Architecture. Previous experience supporting enterprise-scale platforms or multiple product lines. The anticipated hiring range for this role is $162,400 to $203,000 annually, based on relevant market data and other factors. Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations. This role is also eligible for short-term incentives based on individual and business goals.
