Job Title: Engineer IJob DescriptionThis position assists in the planning, design, and development of technical standards for gas distribution infrastructure projects. As an Engineer in the design group, you will engage in designing components and functionality of pipeline products, planning and designing mechanical equipment and components, and performing system balances to identify and solve system issues. You will also provide oversight and support for construction activities.Responsibilities Work on assignments involving the design of components or functionality of pipeline products. Engage in the planning and design of mechanical equipment and components, including maintenance. Perform system balances to determine optimal solutions to system issues. Provide oversight and support for construction activities. Essential Skills 1+ year of professional engineering experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, utilities, or pipelines OR internship experience. Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil). Project management experience. Proficiency in ArcGIS, engineering design, construction, project management, AutoCAD, pipeline design, utility design, mechanical design, linear project, civil engineering, and project controls. Knowledge of DOT regulations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Microstation is a plus. Ability to run stakeholder meetings with high-level leadership. EIT certification is a plus. Work EnvironmentThe position is located in the heart of Midtown, easily commutable via the Midtown Marta station. The work schedule offers flexible working hours, starting between 7-9 am, with 8-hour days. The role requires four days in the office and one remote day (Fridays). Candidates must be local to Atlanta and able to work partially remotely and partially in the office each week, currently scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The work involves spending approximately 70% of the time in the office and 30% in the field. The culture values engineering and engineers, with 80% of upper management having an engineering back ground. Communication with various departments, including vendors, internal departments, and field construction teams, is essential. The position offers 10 days of paid vacation and 9 paid holidays. There is an opportunity to be hired as a full-time employee when positions become available.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
