Description Auria is a leading global supplier of highly-engineered systems for automotive flooring, acoustical, thermal, aerodynamic and other fiber-based solutions for gas and electric vehicles. We are currently searching for an Indirect Buyer to join our team for our Corporate Procurement Department in Southfield, MI. What you will do: Sourcing & Purchasing Manage the procurement of indirect goods and services including MRO, packaging, utilities, tooling, transportation, and professional services. Develop RFQs/RFPs, analyze proposals, build cases and make recommendations based on cost, quality, service level, and commercial terms. Support category strategies aligned with plant needs, corporate goals, and budget targets. Execute purchase orders and provide day‑to‑day support for urgent plant requirements, breakdowns, and maintenance needs. Supplier Management Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor performance in areas such as cost competitiveness, on-time delivery, service quality, and responsiveness. Assist in contract negotiations including pricing, service levels, and commercial terms. Manage suppliers by growing, maintaining, or phasing out according to the strategy Plant & Operations Support Partner with Maintenance, Facilities, Engineering, EHS, IT, and Plant Operations to support urgent repairs, service scheduling, and critical equipment downtime recovery. Expedite orders and escalate delivery issues to protect plant continuity. Support Capex projects by coordinating sourcing activities for equipment installation, tooling, machinery, and facility upgrades. Cost Savings & Process Improvement Identify cost‑reduction opportunities through resourcing, bundling, demand management, and contract negotiation. Support continuous improvement initiatives such as standardizing suppliers across plants. Track and report savings, cost avoidance, and budget impacts. Data, Systems & Compliance Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP/MRP and procurement systems. Resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing issues, and PO errors. Ensure compliance with corporate purchasing policies, procurement controls, and audit requirements. Other duties as assigned. What you will bring: Experience: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent professional experience) 3-5 years of purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally in automotive or manufacturing. Familiarity with indirect categories (MRO, tooling, IT, logistics, facilities, services). Experience with contracts, service agreements, and vendor compliance. Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent professional experience) Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to North American Plants and/or Suppliers Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and ERP systems. Ability to support urgent requests and thrive in a fast‑paced, plant‑support purchasing environment. Familiarity with continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma). Proven management and business acumen Capable of conducting financial analysis, cost comparisons and index calculations.
