Upholding our mission means to provide customers with sound, state-of-the-art medium & heavy duty truck lines and while providing next-level service that ensures their trust in us for all their transportation needs.Cornhusker International Trucks, Inc. is searching for a full-time Assistant Controller who will work directly alongside the Chief Financial Officer within a small accounting team.If you're tired of the larger, corporate work environment and want to be part of a winning financial team driven by freedom, longevity and stable financial growth, this is a chance to be part of a team who's steering a head in performance and numbers!Location: Omaha, NebraskaSchedule:Monday thru Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (5 days/week in-office)Salary$75,000Assistant Controller Benefits Team-Oriented Work EnvironmentMedical/Dental/VisionCompany Paid Life Insurance/AD&D401(K) with company matchPaid Leave & Holidays Essential Functions Applies conceptual accounting principles in the preparation of financial statements such as: balance sheets, income statements, statements of revenue and expenses, and similar financial statements according to company-specific, state, or federal requirementsPrepares supporting documentation for financial statements and explains accounting events in conformance with GAAPReviews and approves accounts payable and cash receipts, and approves fixed assets according to GAAP standardsIdentifies, reviews, and/or prepares financial transactions such as journal vouchers and Company location transactions, and advises management on issues, errors, and the need for correcting entries appropriatelyIdentifies and prepares adjusting and/or closing entries and transactions according to GAAP to accurately present the financial position of the CompanyAnalyzes and prepares necessary cash draws;budget allocations tracking, and remaining balancesPrepares information requested by internal, state and federal auditorsIdentifies and assists with correcting deficiencies in internal controlsWorks on projects involving analysis of cost and/or performance data; prepares reports and information to assist users in assessing service delivery costs and accomplishments Skills & Abilities Accounting experience maintaining general ledger and preparing financial statementsProcesses accounts payable and posts receivables;collects on past due accountsReconciles every balance sheet account and ensures audit-readiness at all timesPrepares annual budgets and analyses budget to actual variancesAnswers vendor & customer questions regarding invoicesFollows accounting department's process and procedures Qualifications Leads the accounting team with accounting processing and solving discrepancies that arisePossesses strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel & WordPossess strong written and verbal communication with top-notch problem-solving skillsPractices professionalism when communicating with customers and colleagues relaying information in a timely mannerMust be detail oriented with strong organization and analytical skillsMust be a team player with strong work ethic who carries vision to improve accuracy and structure5+ years in accounting, with a proven track record of owning the full General Ledger and end-to-end month-end processAssociates Degree in Accounting required; Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferredMust pass a drug test & background check Cornhusker International Trucks, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer!
