Sourcing Manager Cleveland, Ohio Ashton North is partnering with a fast growing, mid-size manufacturing company to identify a Sourcing Manager who will help strengthen and evolve the organization’s supplier strategy during a period of significant operational growth. This role is ideal for a sourcing professional who enjoys working close to the manufacturing floor, building supplier relationships, and helping create structure where processes are still evolving. The Sourcing Manager will partner closely with operations, engineering, and quality teams to develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure supply continuity as the business continues to scale. The Opportunity The company is experiencing accelerated growth and expanding production capacity to meet increasing demand. This role will play an important part in shaping how supplier strategy, vendor management, sourcing processes, and compliance practices evolve as the organization scales. The Sourcing Manager will help establish stronger supplier governance, support sourcing strategies aligned with government contracting requirements, and ensure supplier practices meet regulatory and reporting expectations tied to federal programs. The right individual will enjoy working in a hands on manufacturing environment, collaborating across departments, and helping build sourcing structure that supports both operational growth and compliance with government procurement standards. Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with production needs, cost objectives, and operational growth plans. Lead supplier sourcing initiatives including RFQs, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations. Identify opportunities to strengthen the supplier base while improving cost, quality, and delivery performance. Supplier Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Manage supplier onboarding activities, supplier evaluations, and approved supplier lists. Implement supplier scorecards and performance metrics to improve supplier accountability and performance. Partner with suppliers to address quality issues, delivery challenges, and supply continuity risks. Compliance and Governance Support sourcing activities that align with government contracting requirements and regulatory guidelines. Maintain documentation and supplier records to support audits, reporting requirements, and internal governance standards. Ensure sourcing practices align with internal procurement policies and ethical sourcing expectations. Cross Functional Collaboration Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and planning teams to support production requirements and new product introductions. Ensure sourcing strategies support production schedules, inventory objectives, and operational priorities. Participate in cross functional initiatives that support operational efficiency and supply chain performance. Process Development Evaluate current sourcing practices and implement improvements that increase efficiency, visibility, and supplier performance. Develop policies and procedures that strengthen procurement operations as the organization continues to scale. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred. Five to eight years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. Experience managing supplier relationships, sourcing initiatives, and contract negotiations. Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms. Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to support sourcing decisions. Experience working cross functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams. Exposure to regulated industries or government contracting environments is helpful but not required.
