Los Angeles, CA (Southern California) Were partnering with a well-established wet utility general contractor based in Los Angeles to hire an experienced Estimator to support a strong and growing backlog of municipal and public works projects across Southern California. This is a great opportunity for an estimator who understands underground utilities and wants to play a key role in winning and pricing complex civil infrastructure work. What Youll Be Doing Prepare detailed cost estimates for water, sewer, and storm drain projects Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications Analyze labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor pricing Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes Support bid strategy, value engineering, and risk analysis Work closely with operations, project management, and leadership teams Assist with bid submissions, pricing reviews, and handoff to operations What Were Looking For 310+ years of estimating experience in wet utilities / heavy civil construction Strong understanding of underground utility construction methods and costs Experience bidding municipal / public works projects in Southern California Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and bid documents Proficiency with estimating software (HeavyBid, Bid2Win, or similar preferred) Strong attention to detail and communication skills Why This Role Stable, well-respected Southern California GC with long-term municipal clients Consistent pipeline of water, sewer, and storm drain work Competitive compensation package (base + bonus + benefits) Collaborative estimating and operations team Long-term growth and career stability
