Job Summary: The Patient Coordinator is responsible for any and all of the following functions related to the patient visit: tracking, documenting and obtaining insurance verification, benefits, authorization and/or referrals, eFax and records, abstracting charts and CalOptima billing. Pay Range: Minimum $23.08 Midpoint $30.59 Maximum $38.09 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements. Position Details: This is a part time position that will work 3, 8hr shifts per week at our Sea View Pediatrics Laguna Hills office. Experience: Required: Minimum three (3) months of experience in an office or medical practice setting including clerical or front office experience which may include handling insurance verifications, authorizations and eFax/records. Preferred: One (1) to two (2) years administrative or clerical experience in the medical field. Experience with medical authorization process and payors. Education: Required: High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent. Training: None required. Specialized Skills: Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology; promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; and understand and exceed customer expectations, effectively solve complex patient care and organizational problems, role model positive and professional behavior. Preferred: Bilingual - Spanish/English. Licensure: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS). Work Environments - Functional Demand: Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
