Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Required Certifications RN ID/Compact license Covid Crad ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS Certification, NRP, Stable references Shift Notes nights 3x12 Womens Services – Meridian Hospital (Floor 3) Charting System: EPIC Unit Overview L&D Beds: 10 OR Suites for C-Sections: 2 L&D RNs circulate Triage Beds: 4 Postpartum Beds: 10 Births per Month: ~120 Staffing & Ratios Follows: AWHONN guidelines Typical Ratios: Labor & Delivery: 1:1 Postpartum Couple Care: 1:6 Shift Support Charge RN (no assignment) Resource RN (no assignment) House Supervisor Support Staff CNA for L&D / PP / NICU (4–5 days & nights per week) Unit clerk 24/7 No tele/monitor techs Required Certifications BLS ACLS NRP STABLE (must have taken at least once) AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Patient Population Common cases include: Laboring patients 32 weeks and greater Elective inductions Medical inductions Stable antepartum Postpartum patients Well newborns Required Skills Must have experience in: Labor & Delivery Postpartum Circulating in C-sections Preferred: OB triage experience Drips & Medications RNs do titrate drips Common drips: Pitocin (protocol based) Magnesium sulfate Insulin (rare) Provider Coverage OB Hospitalist: 24/7 in house Midwives: On call Neonatal NP: 24/7 Neonatologist: On call (within 15 minutes) CRNA: 24/7 in house Monitoring EFM System: GE Connect Scheduling Shifts: 7 AM – 7 PM 7 PM – 7 AM Max consecutive shifts: 5 Weekend requirement: Based on unit needs Holiday requirement: Based on unit needs Call requirement: None Floating Travelers may float to: Nampa L&D Boise L&D Notes: Sites are within ~20 minutes Usually interstate driving Floating to another location is rare but possible Notice given before shift Orientation 4–6 shifts Customized based on traveler experience Dress Code Blue scrubs (provided by the unit) About Talent4Health A leader and innovator, offering comprehensive talent solutions for the healthcare industry across the nation.
