The Maintenance Department is currently seeking a dependable, motivated, and self-driven Lead Maintenance Technician to join their team at our Distribution Center in Norcross, GA. This position will perform a wide variety of maintenance activities related to automated assembly equipment, machinery, and systems that directly support production operations.What You'll Bring | Skills & ExperienceThe responsibilities of the Lead Maintenance Technician will consist of but are not limited to the following:Oversee work of assigned maintenance team employeesAssist with the planning and preparation of training for new maintenance team membersLead and coordinate workplace safety initiatives for the facilityTroubleshoot, diagnose, assemble, repair and maintain equipment, machinery and systems related to both automated and manual production equipment typically found in Retail Distribution Centers and Dry-Cleaning operationsPerform hands-on major and minor repairs and maintenance of material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, rolling racks, automated and mechanical conveyors, slick rail, loading dock systems, compressors, electrical and lighting panels, and other related plant equipmentCoordinate and participate in preventative (PM), predictive and corrective maintenance activities on machinery and equipment in the distribution centerCommunicate with manufacturers and supply vendors, and coordinate the ordering of parts, supplies, and toolsOperate and use manual tools and powered-shop machinery and tools to maintain a wide variety of automated and manual equipment and machinery for proper functionalityRepair and maintenance of material handling equipment and knowledge of mechanical operations for motor driven equipmentIdentify and locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using necessary tools and standard practices to correct and solve maintenance problemsMaintain equipment, parts, tools, and supplies inventories in the maintenance shopContinually maintain a safe working operationInteract with and perform effectively in a high-volume team environment while maintaining a positive relationship with management and department staffSupport and assist in maintaining and improving the maintenance department as neededPerform other related activities as assigned and neededWORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:Must have "hands-on" maintenance experienceStrong mechanical background and equipment troubleshooting experienceTechnical, vocational or trade school education is a plusDemonstrated mechanical skills and technical aptitudePrior diagnostic, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance (PM) experience preferredFamiliarity with various hand and electric toolsAbility to troubleshoot electrical components and circuitryAbility to prioritize and organize work related tasks and special projectsMust possess good communication skillsMust be able to speak, read, and understand English for purposes of performing necessary job dutiesCompetence in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Detail-oriented and ability to meet deadlinesProblem solving and analytical skills requiredAbility to work safely by following all maintenance department's standard operating proceduresFlexibility and dependability are required and must be willing to work overtime, off-shift, weekends, and holidays to support production needsAbility to work alone and in a team environmentAbility to work in a production warehouse environment with exposure to various climate conditions (warm, cold, heat) and under stressful conditions such as small and high spaces with the following repetitive physical demands: continuous standing, walking, sitting, use of hands and fingers, grasping, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, working and reaching overhead, using ladders or lifts, and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or moreOther Duties:This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing or activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. We take into consideration an individual's skills, background, and experience in determining final salary.
