Pennsylvania K-12 or K-6 Principal Certification, required 2. A Master's Degree in education, preferred 3. Five (5) or more years of teaching experience at the elementary, middle, or secondary level is preferred. 4. Strong understanding of academic standards including working knowledge of technology, STEAM, and 21st Century Learning Skills 5. Skilled in the use of G-suite, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook, student information systems, and District operations software 6. Experience supervising and evaluating professional and non-professional staff 7. Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, required 8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, required 9. Ability to work under pressure, be flexible, and work as part of a team 10. Self-motivated; demonstrated initiative and ability to follow through with completion of tasks 11. Ability to build trust and positive working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups; able to promote high expectations and high quality for all staff 12. Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, while remaining logical and interpersonal 13. Ability to negotiate and diffuse conflict 14. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure REPORTS TO: Building Principal ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: The assistant principal is responsible for providing leadership to assist the building principal in the ongoing development and improvement of the instructional program of the school. He/she assists with the supervision of all professional and non-professional personnel assigned to the building. The assistant principal is also responsible for supporting the safety protocols established for the building. PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Models and exemplifies the district's core values 2. Assists the building principal in the overall administration of the building 3. Administer the school in the absence of the building principal 4. Provides administrative assistance and supervision at other elementary buildings, as needed 5. Keeps his/her supervisor informed of routine and significant matters 6. Assists with developing and maintaining a healthy and safe environment for students 7. Provides effective staff communication and collaborates to resolve conflicts 8. Interacts daily with students, faculty, staff, and parents in matters of discipline, class attendance, personal and social adjustment, and general interaction 9. Enforces district policies and administrative regulations 10. Assist with state reporting, as directed 11. Cooperates with the building principal and other administrative and supervisory personnel in the overall education program 12. Assists in the development of the morale of the staff and the student body to encourage enthusiasm and loyalty for the school and district 13. Conducts teachers' meetings in the absence of the building principal 14. Makes recommendations to the building principal regarding improvements to enhance the teaching/learning program and personnel based on data 15. Assists principal in budget development and management 16. Assists with oversight of facilities for needs and cleanliness 17. Assists with the in-service orientation and training of teachers and staff 18. Assists with planning and supervising fire drills and the emergency preparedness program 19. Helps supervise the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and works with the individual(s) responsible for attendance to investigate follow-up actions 20. Provides fair and consistent discipline while following the district's discipline policy by managing the general discipline problems of the school and those referred by teachers for special attention 21. Supervises and coordinates behavioral expectations of students in the halls, cafeteria, and other areas 22. Conducts periodic classroom visitations of teachers for the improvement of the instructional program 23. Conducts observations and evaluations of the teaching staff 24. Assists in the facilitation of all activities in the exceptional children's program and participates in the Student Assistance Program (SAP) 25. Coordinates Homebound Instruction 26. Coordinates district assessments as assigned by the building principal 27. Provides support to the building principal in the preparation of the master schedule 28. Assists in the direction and coordination of the student guidance services 29. Attends special events held to recognize student achievement and attends school sponsored activities and functions, as needed 30.
