General Definition: Organizes the silks on a rack labeled by race number and rider numbers Essential Job Functions: Checks, cleans and maintains all silks and saddle towels Organizes the silks on a rack labeled by race number and rider numbers Ensures proper silks are hung for each owner, each race Responsible for cleaning the silks room between and after races Maintains records of all silks delivered to the jocks room Input silks description into the computer for the program Performs other related duties as may be assigned by reporting senior. Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 year related experience and/or training; or combination. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of horseracing industry. Ability to read, count, write and perform basic math. Ability to recognize the need to coordinate effort; be reliable in following through on requests and commitments. Ability to communicate with coworkers and management clearly and accurately. Ability to work varied hours/days, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Computer proficiency, including Microsoft software Training: 1 year work related experience and/or training; or combination. Licenses/Certifications/Other: Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency, if applicable to perform the essential job functions Texas Racing Commission License (TXRC) Physical Requirements: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
