JOB SUMMARY Oversee social media, graphic designs and develop written content for the President's Office ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Chief of Staff Supervisory Responsibility: N/A Indirect Supervisory Responsibility: N/A ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but is not limited to the following: Podcast Network Graphic Design: Create engaging visuals, designing images, GIFs, and graphics specifically for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok). Content Creation & Management: Develop, write, and curate compelling text, image, and video content for social media channels, ensuring a consistent brand voice. Social Media Strategy: Maintain a content calendar, plan campaigns, and identify trends to enhance visibility. Community Engagement: Actively interact with users by responding to comments, direct messages, and mentions to foster a positive brand image. Analytics & Reporting: Monitor and analyze key performance metrics (web traffic, engagement rates) using tools like Google Analytics to report on performance and adjust strategies. Communications Support: Assist with internal and external communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, and website updates. Collaboration & Events: Work with marketing teams to align social media with broader goals and provide live coverage for events. ADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES All remaining duties are considered "nonessential" within the context of the ADA, which means that the function could be reassigned to another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position. LOCATION Lakeland Main Campus EDUCATION Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or other related field. Alternate qualification: 3 years of professional experience with an associate's degree in communications, marketing or other related field. Preferred Education: Master's degree in Communications, Marketing or other related field LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS N/A EXPERIENCE Required: 1 year experience in communication, social media or marketing Preferred: 3 years experience in communication, social media or marketing, preferably in higher education KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Required: Social Media Proficiency Content Creation Graphic Design Project management System Development Basic understanding of marketing principles and the Christian higher education market. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt new/existing messages for a variety of social media platforms. Experience with social media management platforms such as: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Willingness to monitor/post to social networks outside of office hours as needed. Preferred: Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Google Analytics. Experience identifying and creating campaigns for target audiences. Excellent analytical and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively on a team. Strong project management skills with the ability to supervise multiple projects. Physical Requirements: Office Environment: Ability to work primarily in an office setting, which involves sitting for extended periods. Computer Use: Proficiency in using computers for various tasks, which requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for typing and handling office equipment. Communication: Strong verbal communication skills for meetings, presentations, and interactions with staff, students, and parents. Mobility: Capability to move around the office and campus as needed for meetings and events. Lifting: Occasionally lift and carry items such as files, documents, or small office equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. Visual Requirements: Ability to read and interpret data on computer screens and printed documents. Hearing and Speaking: Adequate hearing to participate in conversations and phone calls, and clear speaking ability for effective communication. Travel: None Schedule: 8 hours/day, Monday - Friday; flexibility for weekends/evenings, as required TRAINING All new hires and employees transferring into a new position will have a 90-day probationary period within which to learn the functions of the job and to be evaluated. Following the probationary period, the employee can transition to regular status, have the probationary period extended in order to receive more training, or employment can be terminated. SCREENING All full-time positions at SEU are deemed security-sensitive and require background checks. Employees required to drive their own personal vehicle, a rental car or an SEU vehicle in performance of their duties must pass an MVR records check and meet the requirements of the University's insurance carrier in order to meet the requirements of the position.
