Mitigation Supervisor

Oversees emergency response jobs Water losses Fire and smoke damage Mold remediation Storm or flood damage 2. Manages mitigation crews Assigns technicians to jobs Ensures work follows IICRC standards (like S500 for water, S520 for mold) Supervises demo, drying, containment, and cleaning 3. Job documentation Moisture mapping Equipment logs (air movers, dehumidifiers) Photos and daily reports Insurance documentation (often through software like Xactimate or DASH) 4. Equipment management Ensures proper use of: Air movers Dehumidifiers HEPA air scrubbers Injectidry systems Moisture meters and thermal cameras 5. Communication Updates property managers, homeowners, or adjusters Coordinates with reconstruction teams once mitigation is complete 6. Job site compliance Safety procedures (PPE, containment, negative air) OSHA compliance Proper waste disposal Qualifications: Most Mitigation Supervisors have certifications such as: WRT - Water Restoration Technician ASD - Applied Structural Drying AMRT - Applied Microbial Remediation Technician FSRT - Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician All through IICRC.
