Our client, a global leader in Building Automation, HVAC Controls, and Smart Building Technologies, is seeking a Traveling HVAC Controls Commissioning Technician (Lead Field Service Technician) to join their team. As a Lead Commissioning Technician, you will be part of the Field Services Department supporting system commissioning, BAS integrations, and largescale customer site operations. The ideal candidate will have strong HVAC controls troubleshooting ability, experience with BAS/DDC systems, and the ability to independently lead field commissioning activities. Job Title: Traveling HVAC Controls Commissioning Technician (Lead Field Service Technician - BAS/DDC) Location: Must be based in Chicago or Des Plaines, IL Travel up to 70% to customer sites Pay Range: $40-$43/hr What's the Job? Commission, start up, tune, and verify HVAC/BAS/DDC control systems to meet customer requirements. Install, configure, and test preengineered BAS software and hardware, including 3rdparty integrations (BACnet, Modbus, LON, IP networks). Troubleshoot HVAC control, mechanical, and electrical system issues with strong fieldlevel independence. Coordinate on-site activities with contractors, project managers, and crossfunctional field teams. Lead customer training, support commissioning documentation, and ensure compliance with Honeywell procedures and configuration management. What's Needed? Strong understanding of MSI (Master Systems Integrator) concepts and 3rdparty BAS integrations. Solid knowledge of HVAC controls, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and building automation equipment. Handson experience commissioning or troubleshooting BAS/HVAC/DDC control systems in commercial buildings. Ability to travel up to 70% in the Chicago/Des Plaines region.
