Job Title: Purchasing and Human Resources Office Assistant Department: Office Reports To: Evelyn/Autumn/Karen Location: Summit Products - Des Moines, IA Position Summary: The Purchasing and Human Resources Office Assistant provides essential support to maintain smooth office and facility operations. This role is responsible for purchasing consumable materials, monitoring inventory levels, processing orders, and performing general office and administrative duties. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to collaborate across departments. Key Responsibilities Purchasing Support Manage the weekly consumable purchasing process by reviewing inventory levels and placing orders as needed. Utilize the Summit and Fresco Dashboard to track purchasing activities, monitor inventory status, and maintain accurate data. Communicate with vendors and suppliers to confirm pricing, delivery dates, and order details. Inventory Management Monitor and maintain proper stock levels of consumable items and materials. Coordinate inventory replenishment to prevent shortages or overstock. Maintain organized and up-to-date inventory and shipment records. Office Administration & HR Support Answer incoming phone calls and route them appropriately. Handle general office filing, including confidential HR documentation and employee records. Support HR and office management with administrative projects, data entry, and organization tasks. Shipping and Receiving (Backup) Assist with the receipt and shipment of materials, ensuring accuracy in documentation and labeling. Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal staff to ensure timely delivery and dispatch. General Support Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure smooth daily operations. Support team members with projects and administrative tasks to enhance office efficiency. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred. 2+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory, or office administration (manufacturing experience a plus). Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP or dashboard systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
