The Starbucks experience starts in our Roasting Plants where we have a dedicated team of professional roasters and supporting process teams including planning, warehouse management, packaging, roasting, maintenance, engineering and logistics. As a senior engineer , you will: • Assesses the benefits of engineering technology and method changes to manufacturing operations by using problemsolving and alternative analysis to evaluate financial and operational impact. • Integrates engineering principles and resolves technical obstacles for engineering projects. • Evaluates critical information to make effective decisions and recommendations. • Develops requests for proposals and conducts bid analyses, leads contract negotiations, and manages project budgets. • Designs and implements engineering solutions to improve efficiency, increase capacity, and reduce costs; builds consensus across functions as the project team leader on complex projects and initiatives. • Develops project plans that define scope, schedule, budget, business impact, and risks; executes plans by identifying obstacles, gaining alignment, and driving issues to resolution. • Oversees facility maintenance and automation specialists while performing plant engineering work. • Promotes strong working relationships and mentors lessexperienced engineering partners. • Develops and implements advanced processes-including predictive maintenance techniques-to measure, analyze, and improve equipment performance (reliability), and communicates prioritization of plant performance improvement projects. • Collaborates with maintenance and operations partners to enhance preventative maintenance (PM) processes and process control systems, continuously incorporating new knowledge to improve reliability and performance. • Manages medium to largescale capital projects, applying technical expertise and projectmanagement methods through design, construction, and commissioning. • Oversees detailed rootcause analyses of reliability issues. We'd love to hear from people with: • Engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical or industrial) (3 years) • Engineering design and implementation in particular area of specialization (5 years) • Order management system (if supporting Distribution) (5 years) • Performance metrics development and root cause analysis (5 years) • Warehouse or inventory system implementation (if supporting Distribution) (3 years) • Project management (1 year) • Strategic planning • Consumer products or food company and plant experience, either technical or production • Supervision, including direct supervision of contractors • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities • Team-building skills • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing • Ability to work independently • Results-oriented • Solid distribution operations or transportation skills (if supporting Distribution) • Ability to provide leadership, with the ability to coach and mentor team partners • Project management skills, including measurement, reporting and financial analysis As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits. If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
