Job Description Job Title: Director, Information Services Start Date: TBD Duration: Contract-to-Hire OR Permanent Daily Working Hours: Full-Time Travel: Onsite - Maryland • Work authorization: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship • No Third Parties Please Project Scope We are seeking an experienced Director of Information Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for technology services within a healthcare environment. This role oversees IT service delivery, technology planning, and departmental operations to ensure that information systems effectively support clinical and operational needs across the organization. Position Summary The Director of Information Services provides leadership and guidance in critical areas of technology and service administration, including budgeting, resource development and allocation, policy formation, technology evaluation, and service development, delivery, and deployment. This role also provides leadership, direction, and support to teams within the Information Services department and ensures technology services align with the organization's mission, strategic goals, and operational priorities. Key Responsibilities • Provide leadership in technology and service administration including budgeting, resource allocation, policy development, technology evaluation, and service delivery. • Lead and support work teams within the Information Services department, ensuring effective coordination and performance. • Coach and advise team leaders on workflow design, problem resolution, performance management, job descriptions, and policy interpretation. • Support development and delivery of technology services across the organization. • Collaborate with leadership to design and implement strategic IT initiatives aligned with organizational goals. • Oversee technology system integration and support hospital information system implementations. • Analyze operational and financial data to support planning, forecasting, budgeting, and program evaluation. • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to support departmental operations and project initiatives. • Foster a collaborative and cooperative work environment while resolving conflicts and identifying solutions to operational challenges. • Prioritize and manage technology projects and workflow improvements in a multi-functional healthcare environment. Qualifications Education • Bachelor's degree in a related field required. • Master's degree in Informatics, Information Technology, Clinical Practice, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred. Certifications / Licensure • Licensed or certified healthcare provider, Registered Nurse, or certifications such as Clinical Informatics Board Certification, Informatics Nursing (RN-BC), Certificate in Nursing Informatics, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), or related certification preferred. Experience • 7-10 years of IT-related management experience required, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment. • Previous experience implementing hospital information systems preferred. Additional Requirements • Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external business relationships. • Experience with healthcare system integration, project controls, and workflow design and implementation. • Ability to collaborate in developing strategic IT goals aligned with organizational objectives. • Strong analytical skills to evaluate operational and financial data for planning and budgeting purposes. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence and stakeholder engagement. • Ability to work in a multi-functional environment and manage competing priorities. • Ability to maintain required hospital competencies, training, and certifications as required by organizational policies. • Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays to support technology operations when necessary.
