Operations AssistantLocation: South San Francisco, CA, 94080 Position Summary The position will be required to provide comprehensive support to the Neurona Therapeutics Operations Team by assisting with daily laboratory and facilities activities. This role is ideal for a proactive, organized, and hands-on individual who thrives in a dynamic biotech environment. The successful candidate will help ensure that the research and manufacturing laboratories remain well supplied, functional, and compliant with company safety and quality standards. This role will also provide hands-on support within the GMP facility to ensure materials and supplies are properly prepared and transferred in accordance with GMP requirements. Key Responsibilities and Duties Inventory & Supply Management: Track, organize, and maintain laboratory inventory; ensure accurate documentation and timely replenishment of supplies. Maintain laboratory supplies in common areas and at individual workstations; replace liquid nitrogen, CO₂, and various other gases as required; manage supply of inventories for all research laboratories. GMP Facility Support: Perform duties inside the GMP facility including decontaminating supplies and materials prior to entry, delivering approved supplies into the facility as needed, and assisting with material kitting activities to support manufacturing operations. Ensure all activities are executed in compliance with GMP procedures and documentation requirements. Equipment Support: Assist with setup, calibration, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment; coordinate vendor visits for maintenance and repairs. Facility Maintenance: Coordinate and perform scheduled maintenance such as freezer defrosts, incubator decontaminations, laboratory reorganizations, and preventative equipment upkeep. Interface with vendors for both routine and emergency maintenance as needed. Housekeeping & Safety: Perform routine cleaning of laboratory spaces and equipment to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment. Conduct all activities in accordance with company safety policies and regulatory standards. Documentation and Process Improvement: Regularly update reference materials, logs, and records; contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory efficiency, safety, and quality. Operational Support: Provide general support for operations and facilities projects, shipping/receiving, and internal events as needed. Waste Disposal: Handle and dispose of biohazardous, chemical, and sharps waste according to regulatory guidelines and our EH&S policies. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with research, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure a smooth day-to-day operation and timely issue resolutions. Adaptability: Able to seamlessly transition between tasks and priorities as circumstances require. Thrive in a dynamic setting and adjust quickly to meet immediate operational needs. Qualifications Prior experience in facilities, logistics, lab support, custodial/lab services, or operations preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels. Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. Proven problem-solving and organizational abilities. Experience in regulated environments (e.g., GMP, GLP) preferred. Excellent time management and multi-tasking capabilities. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Willingness to learn biotech/GMP-specific processes and documentation standards. Comfortable working with biological materials and laboratory chemicals is a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. High school diploma required; Associate degree or ongoing college coursework preferred.
