Job Title: Application Developer III Location: Pittsburg PA (Onsite 4+ days per week) Duration: 6-month Contract to Hire Pay rate: $75-85/hr on w2Job Overview We are seeking 3 Senior Full Stack Developers with strong AI-enabled / Vibe Coding experience to support a government-focused project in a highly scalable and secure environment. The project will begin with a Phase 1 rollout in January 2026, with full functionality expected by June 2026. The role will initially focus heavily on backend development (70%+ backend) while also supporting some frontend work using Angular. Candidates should demonstrate strong systems thinking, secure coding practices, and experience building scalable cloud-native applications. This role offers the opportunity to work in a modern AI-assisted development environment and may convert to full-time employment based on performance. Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable full-stack applications using modern frameworks and tools Focus primarily on backend development while supporting Angular-based frontend components Work in AI-enabled development environments using tools such as Windsurf, Cursor, or similar AI coding assistants Implement secure coding practices and ensure auditability due to highly confidential government data Build and maintain REST APIs for high-volume systems Develop and execute test cases (BDD preferred; AI-assisted testing acceptable) Contribute to technical design and lead development initiatives where required Develop solutions in Azure cloud environments, including AKS-managed Kubernetes infrastructure Implement job scheduling and workflow automation using tools such as Apache Airflow or Spring Batch Collaborate with teams to ensure high observability and monitoring capabilities across applications Ensure compliance with FedRAMP Moderate and High security standards Must haves: Strong experience in Full Stack Development Expertise in Java 17+ Experience with Spring Boot 3.5+ Strong frontend development using Angular 23+ Experience building RESTful APIs Experience with Azure Cloud environments Hands-on experience with Kubernetes / AKS Experience with AI-enabled coding tools or workflows Strong secure coding and security compliance mindset Experience building highly scalable, high-volume systems Experience with test automation and writing test cases Strong systems thinking and architecture-aware development approach Experience with Windsurf or Cursor AI coding tools Experience with Apache Airflow or Spring Batch Experience building highly observable systems Experience working in FedRAMP-compliant environments Prior experience working on government or regulated projects
