Job Description

Hourly Pay Rate: $25.00 Shift: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-4PM The Data Analyst will work under the direction of the Data Analytics AVP to build, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards used across the organization. Core duties include gathering reporting requirements from departments, collaborating with the Data Engineering team to ensure accurate and timely data availability, transforming and preparing data using Excel and Power Query, and performing data validation and quality checks. This role will also support ad-hoc analysis requests and contribute to the standardization of reporting practices organization wide. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:Work alongside the Data Analytics AVP to build, maintain, and improve Power BI reports and dashboards that serve stakeholders across the organization Gather reporting requirements from program staff, leadership, and other departments to understand what information they need and how they use it Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to define data requirements, ensure the right data is available and accurate, and troubleshoot data quality issues that affect reports Prepare and transform data for reporting using Excel, Power Query, and basic DAX formulas with guidance from the AVP Help maintain workspaces of standardized reports and dashboards, ensuring consistency in metrics, formatting, design, and delivery across the organization Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure reports are accurate and reliable before and after distribution Learn and apply data visualization best practices to present information in clear, concise ways Assist with ad-hoc data analysis and reporting requests from various departments Comply with all agency policies and procedures Other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:1-2 years of experience in a data, reporting, or analytics role (internships, project work count) Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, or Statistics or an associate’s degree in stated fields with an additional 2 years of experience or combination of education and years of experience. Strong proficiency Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data manipulation) and at least beginner understanding of Power BI (familiarity with Power Query and DAX) Experience with other BI or visualization tools instead Power BI ok Desire and willingness to continually grow Power BI skills with mentorship from the AVP Good understanding of data concepts such as tables, relationships, and data types Ability to translate business questions into reporting requirements Effective communication skills and comfort working with both technical and non-technical colleagues across departments Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Dependable and flexible when necessary SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
