Performs patient assessment prior to treatment and administers appropriate medications, blood products, and other therapeutic measures as ordered. Cleans and dresses access sites and other wounds using appropriate aseptic techniques, and initiates and performs emergency procedures when necessary. Participates in patient and family teaching regarding dialysis treatment and renal dietary recommendations. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services and when ordering supplies. Completes all mandatory educational requirements, attends unit staff meetings, and integrates research findings and evidence-based practice into patient care. Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations. Fosters a culture of psychological safety, where the team members feel supported, valued, empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully. Promotes evidence-based practice, ensuring quality outcomes, and fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning. Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital policies while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness. Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals. Other duties as assigned. Education: • Associate's of Nursing [Required] • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred] Field of Study: • Nursing Work Experience: • 3+ years RN experience in acute inpatient dialysis upon hire [Required] • Medical/surgical, ICU, CCU, and ER experience [Preferred] Licenses and Certifications: • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] OR • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required] • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required] • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) [Required] • Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) [Preferred] • Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) [Preferred] Physical Requirements: (Please click the link below to view work requirements) Physical Requirements - Pay Range: $33.99 - $63.22 This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
