The Maintenance Technician performs mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities in a PSM-regulated chemical manufacturing facility. The role supports safe and reliable plant operation through work on piping systems, rotating equipment, and related process infrastructure. Essential Responsibilities · Perform mechanical maintenance on pumps, piping, valves, and rotating equipment. · Execute flange joint make-up, torquing, equipment alignments, and pump rebuilds per engineering specifications. · Conduct rigging and lifting activities in accordance with site safety procedures. · Use the site CMMS to manage work orders, record activities, and review equipment history. · Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and contract personnel to plan and complete maintenance tasks. · Follow all safety policies, including PSM requirements, safe work practices, and hazard communication standards. · Support major outages requiring extended work hours. Qualifications Required: · Industrial mechanical maintenance experience (chemical or manufacturing environment preferred) · Proficiency with piping systems, mechanical repairs, alignments, and rigging · Ability to climb stairs and ladders throughout facility to access platforms · Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and equipment documentation · Ability to use computers and interact with a CMMS · Ability to work in a PSM-regulated environment with hazardous chemicals · Willingness to work extended hours during outages Preferred: · Experience with CMMS platforms · Industrial mechanic or maintenance certification (e.g., NCCER) Physical Requirements · Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and enter confined spaces · Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and around process chemicals · Use of required PPE, including respirators when necessary Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
