Expert Painter

Trinity Rail is hiring an Expert Painter at our Jonesboro plant. Our products are an integral part of the supply chain that helps fuel our lives and our economy. The Expert Painter position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who does not stray away from a challenge. As a member of the coating's family at Trinity, you will prepare, coat, and finish metal and/or other surfaces. Operate conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces. Mixes and applies alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, urethane, zinc epoxies and waterborne paint systems according to a prescribed formula. Adjusts nozzles on spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitors the flow and viscosity of the paint for solution. Poper use of mill gauge and monitors pressure amount. Cleans paint lines, paint guns, and performs other cleaning preventative maintenance to ensure that painting apparatus remains in working order. Regulates the temperature and air circulation in drying ovens. May also perform duties of Prep Worker. Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required. Follows all safety rules and practices. Performs other duties as assigned. Prepares materials, surfaces and structures for coverage with paint, laminate, rubber or other material. Applies coatings to specifications and completes detailed special applications as appropriate to the surface and final product requirements. What you'll do: Prepare painting area Comprehensive knowledge of all interior coatings and applications Advanced at spray and hand-held application of interior coatings Extensive knowledge of sealing/baking final interior coatings Repairs spray equipment Trains lower levels Qualifications What you'll need: 4-6+ years of related experience Ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures Ability to use independent judgement and resourcefulness Ability to Solve complex problems using advanced technical knowledge and creativity
