Human Resources/Office Manager (Executive-Level) West Palm Beach, FL, Full Time, In-Office Compensation: $85,000 - $90,000/yr.Schedule: Preferred 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with a 1-hour lunch, or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch. With 70 total employees, including 19 in the office, we pride ourselves on maintaining a close-knit, positive "family" environment. Our office environment is casual, yet we service a high net worth clientele, requiring professionalism when interacting with our customers. You will be a key executive leader, working side-by-side with the owner and CFO daily. Position Summary This is a fast-paced, high-impact executive position for a self-managed HR and Office Management generalist. This role is significantly weighted toward Human Resources functions, serving as the central point for employee relations, payroll, and benefits, while also overseeing general office operations. The successful candidate will possess exceptional people skills and the patience required to manage a diverse group of personalities and age groups, ensuring a productive and positive work environment. Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is a plus, but not strictly required. Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources & Employee Relations (Primary Focus) Serve as the primary HR generalist, managing the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, and maintaining accurate employee records. Lead employee relations, promoting engagement, mediating disputes, and resolving workplace conflicts with fairness and discretion. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and assist in the implementation of HR initiatives and company policy updates. Coordinate performance appraisal tracking and identify training needs. Payroll & Administration (Must-Have Experience) Manage weekly payroll processing-a straightforward process involving heavy data entry, reviewing, and submitting deductions via the VensureHR platform. Proficiency with various payroll software is acceptable; experience with ADP, Paylocity, Workforce Now, Total Source, or similar systems will suffice, as the current system is easy to learn. Oversee the administrative staff (4 direct reports), each of whom manages their own functional area (e.g., C/S, Accounting). Office Management Oversee the general neatness, organization, and safety of the office environment. Manage office supplies, equipment, and general facilities coordination. Act as a central point of contact, checking in with employees to support well-being and a positive culture. Occasionally jump in to assist with a customer service standpoint, interacting directly with high net worth clientele, though this is not a primary function. Financial Support & Coaching Utilize Microsoft Excel for organizational purposes, including creating basic spreadsheets and general data-keeping (no advanced functionality required). Familiarity with QuickBooks is beneficial for providing basic coaching or assistance to employees, but it is not a requirement. Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on, practical Human Resources experience, including full-cycle payroll processing and benefits administration. Proven supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred. Exceptional people skills, emotional intelligence, and the patience to manage a diverse, multi-generational workforce. Proven ability to self-manage, prioritize, and wear many hats in a fast-paced generalist role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (basic Excel skills are required). Experience with a major HRIS or payroll platform (VensureHR, ADP, Paylocity, etc.). Prior HR experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is a plus.
