Forklift Operator and Material Handler Join our team as a Forklift Operator and Material Handler in a warehouse setting. This role involves distributing power and telephone equipment, cabling, boxes, and other industry-related materials. Key tasks include reading work orders from an RF scanner, operating a sit-down forklift, receiving and storing items, loading materials from trucks or semis, conducting inventory checks, packaging products, and preparing packages with shipping labels. Responsibilities: Operate a sit-down forklift to move materials within the warehouse. Read and process work orders using an RF scanner. Receive, store, and organize materials and products. Load and unload materials from trucks or semis. Perform inventory checks and maintain accurate records. Package products and prepare them with shipping labels. Essential Skills: Proficiency in material handling and warehouse operations. Experience in forklift operation, with 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred. Ability to lift 50-70 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently. 1 year of experience using an RF scanner. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Attention to detail and effective time management abilities. 1 year of material handler and warehouse experience. Why Work Here? Work Environment: Work in a typical, non-temperature controlled warehouse with an AC break room. This fully on-site position is located in Des Moines, Iowa, with working hours on the 2nd shift, Monday to Friday from 2:30pm to 11pm, featuring minimal overtime. You will be part of a small team of 6-7 people, with training provided on the 2nd shift for two days. The dress code includes jeans, shorts, work-appropriate shirts, and steel-toed boots. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
